Delete your MyNikkahMate account

You can delete your MyNikkahMate account whenever you like. There are two ways to do it. Before you do, please read “What gets deleted” below: a register is official paperwork, and deleting the account is the only way it is ever erased.

1. In the app (quickest)

Open the MyNikkahMate app on your phone.
Go to More → Your data → Delete my account.
The app offers Export my data first: a zip of your whole register, including every ID photo and signature. Take it if you want to keep a copy.
Type your institution’s name to confirm, then tap Permanently delete account.

Your account is deleted immediately. You’ll need an internet connection.

2. By email

If you can’t get into the app, email [email protected]:

use the subject “Delete my account”;
send it from the email address on your account, so we know the request is really from you.

We’ll delete your account within 30 days and email you to confirm. If you write from a different address, we’ll need to check it’s you first.

What gets deleted

Everything. Deleting your account permanently removes, from our systems:

your account and sign-in details, including your email address, display name, password and any Apple or Google sign-in link;
the whole register: every nikkah entry, registered, void or draft, with the people on it (the couple, the attorney, the witnesses and the officiant, their details and dates of birth), the mahr and the fee, the checks you ran, your officiants, your institution’s details and numbering, and your document records;
all the photos and files you have added: every ID photo, every signature, scanned copies, document files and your logo;
the record of which certificate copies were emailed, and to whom;
your registered devices and sign-in sessions, which signs you out everywhere.

On the device you delete from, the app also clears your records and files. This can’t be undone. We can’t recover a deleted account or a deleted register.

Good to know

Your register is otherwise never deleted. If your trial or subscription ends, your account becomes read-only and the register is kept for as long as the account exists; you can still see, print and export it. Deleting the account is the one thing that erases it.
Export first. The app offers an export before deleting; by email, ask us for one in the same message and we will send a link before we delete anything.
Backups: deleted data may remain in our backups for up to 14 days, until they are deleted. It isn’t used in the meantime.
Other phones: if you’re signed in on another device, it will be signed out. Uninstall the app from it to remove any copy left there.
Copies you have already emailed to the groom, the bride or anyone else are in their inboxes and are not affected.
Uninstalling the app on its own does not delete your account.
